For those who have been my story, you know that journey with weightlifting has been anything but linear It has been a decade’s process of growth, learning, and overcoming challenges. As a 54-year-old, my resume might reflect a winding path—from serving in the United States Air Force to driving a truck, transitioning into customer service, and eventually stepping into the world of corporate selling and marketing. However, at every stage, weightlifting been constant source of strength and sanity in my life. Here, I wish to share my story, the lessons I have learned, and the weightlifting has brought to my and mental well-being. Believe me, I have been in some dark—and that does not I turned to drugs, alcohol, or any other substance—I struggled with self-esteem issues. Sometimes we get in to situations in life that feel insurmountable. Some of the situations we cause ourselves and other situations are thrust upon us. Sometimes those experiences and outcomes from those experiences can take years if not decades to “correct” and that takes focus and serious self-examination along the way. Having those hard conversations with yourself. Follow me for several blogs throughout the week to my chronicles as well as about resilience a never-give-up attitude. I want my story to inspire others.
